- ABOUT US -
African Delights was established in 2003, specialising in imported South African groceries and a limited range of giftware. Since then, our product range has expanded to such an extent that the shop is now one of the largest of its kind in Sydney.
African Delights boasts a diverse range fair trade arts and crafts, homeware, jewellery, books and magazines, CDs and DVDs, curios and even sporting memorabilia.
Alongside our extensive range of food and beverages one also finds such delicacies as Biltong, Droëwors and Boerewors. All meat products - the best in town - are locally made and provided by Reon Wilsenach, owner of The Biltongman.
Enthusiastic, customer-focused staff makes African Delights more than just a business. African Delights has become a cultural landmark, an info centre where upcoming events and South African-owned businesses are advertised and a popular meeting place for South African ex-pats - a taste of home!
African Delights is not exclusive to Southern African “ex-pats” – a large number of non-South African customers supports us on a regular basis, proving that “local is lekker” and that a visit to our store is a unique experience.
In October 2018, Ian and Anette bought African Delights and have been adding to the success story of this business ever since. Alongside some of the familiar faces working behind the counter, they have succeeded in improving the look and layout of the shop, as well as enhancing the whole customer experience.
In case you’re wondering – the Biltong, Boerewors and all meat products are still the same great products supplied by Springbok Delights and The Biltong Man! The same with our Koeksisters and Milktarts – why change a winning recipe?!
Come in and see our “new look” store, you are sure to find something you love and if we don’t have it, we’ll do our best to get it for you.
